NEW YORK CITY – PRIME Hall of Famer and legend Brandon Youngblood and PRIME are in agreement on a 15-year contract, a record-long deal that rumored to be the richest ever offered in promotion history. Exact financial details are currently not available. Particulars made available include the following:
- Youngblood’s previous contract with PRIME included annual opt out clauses the he could exercise. This deal removes such clauses, as they are deemed ‘unnecessary’.
- While there is no end date to Youngblood’s in-ring career, provisions in the contract involve the Hall of Famer becoming a senior advisor to PRIME CEO Lindsay Troy once he does retire from competition.
- There is special language that seems to point in the direction of PWA competition as part of the contract framework.
The move comes as a surprise, as rumors abounded about the professional relationship between Youngblood and Troy to be on untenable ground. In the wake of Brandon’s surprise opt out at the end of November, DEFIANCE, SHOOT Project, and High Octane Wrestling were rumored to be in pursuit of the Tower of Babel’s services. There was also unsubstantiated rumors that Youngblood was going to retire after this year’s Colossus. In any event, the move is viewed as a major boon for PRIME and ACE Network, especially with the promotion beginning a national touring schedule and running Super Show events in major stadiums.
More details to be released as they become available.
