MVW is set up in divisions.

The top singles divisions are the Men’s and Women’s Division.  The next singles division is the Men’s and Women’s Heartland Division

There is only one division for Men’s and Women’s Tag Teams.

The Men’s, Women’s, Men’s Tag Team, and Women’s Tag Team titles are generally defended every four weeks against the #1 contender in the division.

MVW uses rankings as the basis of 99% of the booking with occasional exceptions.

Storylines usually revolve around wrestlers trying to move up in the rankings to earn title opportunities and champions trying to hold on to their titles.

Contenders attempt to move up in the rankings through a series of matches at MVW’s house shows.  For example:

Promotion/Relegation
Once a month, the lowest ranked contender in the top division will meet the highest ranked contender in the Heartland division.  The winner is either promoted up to or retains their spot in the top division.  The loser is relegated down or remains in the Heartland division.

The same is true for the lowest ranked wrestler in the Men’s and Women’s Heartland Division.

The setup is also the same for the tag team divisions except there are no Heartland tag team divisions.
