Men’s Champion Adam Ellis and Women’s Tag Team Champions The Hanson Sisters headlined the second night of Missouri Valley Wrestling’s run through Kansas at last night’s Coffeyville, Kansas house show.  The show featured matches in the Men’s and Women’s Heartland, Women’s, and Women’s Tag Team Division.

The big news from the show took place early on when a confrontation took place between Scott Stevens- returning to MVW after Ray McAvay ended his suspension- and Joe Bergman following Stevens’ win over Bo Bevans.  Bergman was pissed off that Stevens paid an unannounced and unwelcome visit to Bergman’s Barn this week while he was gone so he came out with the rookie wrestlers who were there that day and confronted Stevens.

But before things escalated, MVW Owner Ray McAvay came out and laid down the law to Stevens.  McAvay told him he’s lucky he didn’t fire his ass outright after no-showing an April MVW show where he was to wrestle in a number one contender’s match.  Here’s how it went…

Ray McAvay: So here’s the deal, Scott.  When I suspended you, I let Adam Ellis jump into your spot because he deserved it and he earned it.  When I lifted your suspension, I thought doing the same thing…  putting you right back where you were before.

Stevens seems pleased with that.

Ray McAvay: But.  After what you pulled at Joe’s barn the other day?  No, you’re not going to jump the line.  You’re not going to get special dispensation with me.

McAvay makes clear to Stevens.

Ray McAvay: Yeah, I’m still going to let you come back…  but I’m not going to treat you the same way I treated Ellis.  You’re starting at ground zero, Scott.  You’re going to have to earn your spot.  That’s right.  You’re going to have to work your way up from the bottom just like everyone else has to. And if you don’t like it?

McAvay points to the exit.

Ray McAvay: There’s the door.

Afterwards, both Bergman and Stevens left the ring without any further issue.

Bergman and Stevens face each other tonight at High Octane Wrestling’s Chaos 5 show.

Here are the results of the feature matches from last night.

Saturday July 30th, 2022- Nellis Hall / Coffeyville, KS
Men’s Champion Adam Ellis came out at the beginning of the show and had a few choice words for Darin Zion.  He talked about their upcoming match that will take place August 14th at High Octane Wrestling’s Dead or Alive pay per view show.  The fans like the sound of that.  Ellis says he never thought he was ready winning the HOW Tag Team title when it happened.  But now, he believes he’s ready to take on the best and that starts in two weeks when he outclasses and outwrestles Zion at DOA.

#2 vs. #3 WOMEN’S HEARTLAND: #2 ‘Precious’ Patty McBride defeated #3 Libertie Bell
McBride rolled past Bell with little trouble.  Tonight, she faces Yosemite Samantha in Dodge City, Kansas in a #1 contender’s match for a shot tonight at the Women’s Heartland Title.

#2 vs. #3 MEN’S HEARTLAND: #2 ‘Big Don’ Dickinson defeated #3 Stan
Dickinson found himself on the back foot early on in the match but came back to score the win and another #1 contender’s match against ‘Rock Star’ Robbie Marrs tonight in Dodge City.  The winner goes on to wrestle Ricky Stevens for the Men’s Heartland Title.

#2 vs. #3 WOMEN’S TAG TEAM: #2 Jill Berg Enterprises (Sheline Carrigan/Prisoner #034291) defeated #3 The Rose Warriors (Geena the Warrior Princess/Eliza Rose)
JBE thought they’d cruise past The Rose Warriors.  They were wrong.  Geena and Eliza proved once again that they are a team you can’t discount and had Carrigan and Prisoner #034291 on the ropes early on.  Carrigan and Prisoner #034291 turned it around at the ten minute mark and finished off The Rose Warriors in just over thirteen minutes to set up a match tonight against the Missouri Valley Fight Club.

#2 vs. #3 WOMEN’S DIVISION: #2 Lisa Barbosa-Stevens defeated #3 Debbie the Destroyer
Tough night for Barbosa-Stevens.  Debbie the Destroyer dominated the match throughout but could not get the pinfall on her.  Late in the match, Debbie sent Barbosa-Stevens to the ropes and took out referee Corrina Romanov.  That allowed Jill Berg Enterprises to interfere.  Carrigan blasted Debbie with a steel folding chair and Prisoner #034291 followed with a two-handed choke slam.  The referee revived to find Barbosa-Stevens on top of Debbie and made the three count for the win at nearly sixteen minutes.  Will Lisa have enough on the tank tonight when she steps into the ring against former Women’s champion Shizuko Yamazaki in a #1 contender’s match?

We will find out tonight.

Missouri Valley Wrestling Presents: 6:05
Nellis Hall
Coffeyville, KS
Saturday July 30th, 2022

Ray McAvay and Stacee Perry

Ray McAvay stands in the middle of the ring at MVW’s house show in Coffeyville, Kansas and welcomes everyone to a special edition of MVW’s 6:05 30 minute internet only show.

Tonight is all about the beginning of the Carmondy Cup.

This competition will be open to wrestlers actively participating in matches at Bergman’s Barn all the way up to MVW’s Men’s and Women’s Division.  There will be a Men’s and Women’s tournament.

In the next 30 minutes, the 24 Men’s and Women’s wrestlers and 12 Men’s and Women’s Tag Teams participating in the Carmondy Cup will be announced AND the first match ups will be determined.

McAvay explains the tournament consists of randomly drawn rounds and the entrants are not seeded.  But like the English Football League’s FA Cup, a system of byes based on the level (Bergman’s Barn, Heartland, Men’s/Women’s Divisions) ensures higher ranked wrestlers will enter in later rounds.

McAvay says here we go.  He announces the teams and wrestlers competing in the 2022 Carmondy Cup.
